As schools and businesses seek to create and maintain healthy spaces for continued in-person learning, and business operations, Aramark has partnered with PlanLED to lead the pursuit to improve indoor air quality (IAQ) for academic and business environments.
The use of ultraviolet light to disinfect the air is a proven solution that has been recommended by the CDC as a “layered strategy” to improve IAQ. Ultraviolet light is used to neutralize viral, bacterial, and fungal organisms in the air, allowing disinfection to take place within the space where transmission occurs, rather than in the air ducts or HVAC equipment.
Recently, one of Florida’s largest K-12 districts has adopted Upper Room GUV to create healthy spaces, limit the spread of airborne viruses, and protect its students and staff. Currently, this is the largest Upper Room GUV installation in the world.
- Aramark’s disinfection solution is designed based on the 90 years of research and studies that showed consistent reduction of airborne transmission by 80-90%.
- Upper Room Germicidal Ultraviolet light will also protect building occupants from the common cold, seasonal influenza and future variants, thereby reducing absenteeism.
