New Health Sciences Services Center

Neumann University collaborated with the Aramark EAS Construction Excellence Team to manage the construction of the new Health Sciences Center. The new structure is an extension of the Rocco Abessinio Building, which added approximately 17,000 square feet of instruction and lab space to accommodate projected growth in the doctoral program in Physical Therapy as well as in undergraduate programs in Nursing, Athletic Training and the Health Sciences.

Aramark was the single point of contact with responsibility for the overall project delivery. Under this delivery method, Aramark as the Design-Builder, assumed the risk of project coordination to allow construction to begin while the design was being completed. Neumann University entered into a Design-Build contract directly with Aramark, and Aramark entered into subcontracts with the Architect, Construction Manager, and other specialty consultants and contractors to complete the project. Additionally, Aramark was responsible for the coordination and cost of relocating existing furniture, fixtures and equipment to be reused in the new facility. Aramark also coordinated the relocation of faculty and staff to the new building.

Based on the great relationship Aramark has with key leaders on campus, as well as the proven track record of successful project implementation on campus, the project management team continues to maintain the trust and respect of those key decision makers as well as the campus community. This project was successfully completed approximately 400K under budget.

Aramark’s CPM Team has managed in excess of $66 million in capital projects at Neumann University. As a result of Aramark’s capital program management services, all construction projects were completed on-time, on-budget, and greatly exceeded the University’s expectations.
