EAST BATON ROUGE, LA (May 16, 2014) — The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced that Claiborne Elementary School in Louisiana, won the fourth-annual Energy Star National Building Competition: Battle of the Buildings. Teams from more than 3,000 buildings across the country spent the past year competing to see which one could reduce their buildings’ energy use the most. A Future Engineer
BRONX, NY (March 10, 2014) — Nombuelelo, an 11th grade high school exchange student from South Africa with interest in becoming a mechanical or civil engineer, joined members of the EAS Team at the Bronx Psych Center. The group reviewed mechanical drawings and had a tour of several buildings. Each building was at a different point of construction which allowed Nombuelelo to see different stages of the entire process. She had a wonderful time and learned a lot! Many thanks to our colleagues for opening up the site to this future engineer!
Aramark presents Fenway Park Classics for the Fall Classic
BOSTON, MA (October 22, 2013) — With the World Series coming back to Boston, Aramark, the exclusive food and beverage partner of the Red Sox, has been working around the clock to help ensure Boston fans have the ultimate World Series experience. Among the preparations, Aramark is creating a championship menu to feed the thousands of hungry fans that will pack Fenway Park during the World Series.
Aramark Senior Executive Chef Ron Abell and his culinary team went back to the basics when creating the featured menu for the Fall Classic. Highlights include Fenway Park favorites and signature New England flavors like the famous Fenway Handmade Lobster Roll, Clam Chowder and the beloved Fenway Frank.
“Red Sox fans are as hungry for their favorite Fenway Park foods as they are for an eighth World Championship,” said Chef Abell. “We’re eager to showcase Fenway Park’s world-class menu and deliver a memorable dining experience for fans attending this year’s World Series.”
Boston Building Energy Reporting Ordinance
BOSTON, MA (November, 2013) — As a component of Boston’s City’s Climate Action Plan to meet the Mayor’s greenhouse gas reduction goal of 25 percent by 2020, this Ordinance requires all large and medium sized buildings to report their annual energy and water use to the City of Boston. The Ordinance is intended to encourage building owners to participate in local utility energy efficiency programs and educate tenants on building performance. By passing this Ordinance, Boston has joined the ranks of New York City, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., Seattle, San Francisco and other major U.S. cities that have enacted energy reporting and disclosure requirements in their jurisdictions.
